Peugeot Van Upgrade Potential Issues

Hi all,
Wasn't sure to start a new thread or not,
Thinking about upgrading pug van as always on here information & help is second to none,
Seen a few threads regarding the adblue problems,1st off when did they upgrade the tank & pump on newer versions which are more reliable,and slightly off topic what else would anyone else suggest to look out for whilst upgrading maybe 17/18 plate,

I put this into a new thread Steve.

Despite upgrades to tanks to fix some issues, these are still very hit and miss, so if I were you and you could factor it in, I would get an approved used one from a Citroen dealer which will offer decent warranty, but further, if eligible (depending on mileage) I would consider continuing any extended warranty that can be had for about £250 ish a year. There are variations to the price, with some including RAC breakdown, so depends on which option you want. But this should provide good peace of mind and I've never had any warranty work turned down to date.

Wasn't sure were to post it seeing it sort of come in partially to that thread.
I looked at main dealers but their prices are like £2-4k plus vat above(say private/other dealership) would the warranty on none dealership be the same has the main dealership,some offering anything from 3-12mths, or more,plus am I right in thinking with the main dealership you have to have it serviced there ? for the warranty to be valid.

Of course Citroen and other Stellantis brands have a warranty company they use for their extended warranties. I can't remember who it is, but as far as Joe Public is concerned it's just Citroen Extended Warranty.

The official dealerships tend only to offer vehicles on their forecourts that are under a certain mileage and have a decent if not complete manufacturer service history. They then tend to offer a used car warranty for a period of time (usually a year).

You do not have to have your vehicle serviced by a dealer - that's against competition rules and was outlawed, but you MUST ensure that the servicing schedule is adhered to and that the exact prescribed manufacturer maintenance / servicing operations are undertaken regardless of where you get the servicing done. They can and will ask to see paper-based evidence of any servicing undertaken and at what mileage it was done if you ever need to make a claim.

So consider the 'peace of mind' aspect of getting a vehicle from a dealer and the backup of a comprehensive used vehicle warranty from them, against an independent dealer where you really don't know the full ownership and servicing history of it apart from what you are told or the documentary evidence.
