Hello to the forum
After a stroke earlier this year I have been selling off all my tools anf kit so am unable to properly inspect anything anymore.
Rear right pads a very worn while rear left pads look "normal".
Rear right wheel gets hot after 40 minute drive.
Some minor squeeking while driving.
Could the handbrake be corroded and be stopping the even distribution of cable effort ? Ie is the handbrake mechanism holding the pads slightly on all the time.
Or is it more likely to be sticking calliper piston preventing pad release.
I know the rubber boot was damaged but last pad change was done with very careful exposed piston cleaning with compressed air and brake fluid (oh yes , elf and safety here !) before winding back in ... but I do remember it being tight to wind back in ... had the usual kit of adaptors for various types with the manual screw winders.
Or is it the calliper guide pins sticking and also preventing pad release.
Just seeking a bit of guidance before it goes to the local garage.
Would most recommend both side callipers and discs replaced ?
Or handbrake cable mechanism - I think there is a little balancer thing somewhere - or assume there must be.

Local garage replaced calliper ( and pads both sides ).
MOT sailed through.
So calliper was the problem.

Thanks for letting us know Paul. From a fellow Paul!
