Do anyone know if there is a pcv valve on my 1998 Xantia X1, 110 hp, petrol? If there is, where should it be? I can not find one where it usually is located on engines.
I had a strange experience for about a year ago when I changed the air filter (which did not look espesially dirty) to a new one, then when I tried to start the engine, it would not start at all. Then I found it got suched dirty oil into the throttle body and clogged up the maf-sensor there. Then i cleaned the maf-sensor and the throttle body, and the engine then ran fine. So can anyone tell me what happened only due to change of the air filter?
Recently I also heard I had engine knock, and I saw with camera that it was a lot of carbon buildup in the combustion chamber, and I now have had a workshop to clean the combustion chamber with a hy-carbon mashine, and it now looks way better when I see with camera, and for now it also seems as if I have gotten rid of the engine knock. So can also the carbon buildup have a connection with what I have experienced?
Crankase ventilation, carbon buildup in the combustion chamber, pcv valve, etc. Any suggestions?
