2010 C5 'Automatic locking disabled'

Unread post by andy_k »

'Automatic locking disabled' message just popped up on the dashboard - I can't find any obvious mention of it in the handbook - deadlocking, selective unlocking etc all get a mention but nothing about automatic locking!!

Any ideas for a simple remedy?

Cheers folks

well, by trial and error, it seems that leaning on the lock button for a few seconds on the centre console resets the system and enables the function - I still have no idea how I turned it off though :)

It's simply the Auto door locking function that you've deactivated / activated. A long press on the button toggles the function on or off, causing the doors to auto lock after a certain speed is reached. It was really designed against car jacking so any undesirables can't open the doors and leg it with the family jewels in a traffic jam or at the lights.

Daughter's C3 often has this message, that I chose to ignore.
It still locks the doors when it gets to 5 mph.

yeah our old AMG had the same 'feature' except that couldn't be disabled without the use of a diagnostic machine - I hadn't realised how I had turned it off in the Citroen though :D
