c3 wipers on intermittent all the time

Thank goodness I found this forum!
My 61 plate c3 has its wipers on intermittent constantly and it’s becoming a pain. I’ve done some searching and tried to reset the control module which worked for a day or two but not now. Is it the motor gone faulty and this is the way the comms tells you?
Is it the switch faulty and the comms telling you??
Or is it the comms itself???

It really depends on the fault code which should be triggered and for which you will really need Diagbox to retrieve. There are possibilities that range from the form the speed control wire, the engine fusebox, the wiper motor itself or the comms unit or data network wiring. So a fault code is really needed to give you some pointers.

The first thing i would do with this is check the live data of the Com2000 unit (wiper & indicator switch assembly) & see what position the BSI thinks the switch is in. If the live data is showing the switch working as it should i'd next take a look at the wiper motor and its connector for ant signs of water ingress.

can the live data be read with a mechanics style diagnostic or is it more specific for electronic systems? My garage has been on holiday this week but will be there on monday.

No.

Any decent professional level diagnostic system should be able to read this, The diagnostics often list it as 'switch module at the steering wheel'

cleared all the codes at garage today and reset the body module as per instructions- all ok and checked through the operations several times - drove away and they come on again ahhhgg!!!!

Unfortunately clearing the fault code is useless if the fault remains - it will just get triggered again, so needs some further investigation to try and determine if it's the comms module (control unit under the steering wheel). We had to have ours replaced as a result of the automatic headlamps activating during the day and flashing oncoming drivers randomly, but wipers were fine.
