2015 picasso experts

Unread post by citroenxm »

Has anyone on here got experience with 2015 c4 picasso.

Mum has A 2015 1.6 8v hdi .. 27k on it..

The car is lighting up like a christmas tree..

Thats.. abs light.. esp light . Tyre monitor light.. hill start assist.. engine mangement light..

Pressing the start button sometimes the car starts right away.. other times it may pause for a moment then after a minute fire up..

Once running the engine runs perfectly. It starts instantly when it turns over..

I put my lexia on and other then only reading the vin number I then get no diaglouge with ANY of the cars ecus

Is my lexia or software too old.. or is there something else going on. I wanted to connect up to see what or where to start looking.

I've check all fuses .. nothing blown..

Any pointers greatly recived

I put my handheld scanner on and it gave me abs module incorrect info recived.

I had one occasion where my company 54 reg Xsara Picasso did this. The RAC guy moved the SHUNT fuse to the park position for a minute, and then put it back into the customer position. That cured the problem for me.

How old is the battery Paul? They can go haywire if it's on the way out.

Hi Paul

Yes it's likely your Software is too old for a 2015 - depends on what version you are running. Update 7.72 / 8.08, was available from 01/06/2015 - so you really are on the cusp depending on the build date of the vehicle. You will also need a full chip VCI too.

Remember, on these, everything is linked together, so if you have an issue with any part of the ESP system for example, this will affect all the related features and systems that rely on the speed sensor data, like the Electronic Handbrake, the Hill Start Assist, the Cruise Control - you get the picture.

So you really do need to get the diagnostic done and a fault code if poss., in order to give you some pointers.

I'll load up diagbox and see which version it is. I'm loathed to update it incase it won't work on older cars.. or is that not the case.. will it still work with mk.1 c5 and my xm if I update it?

I can't say for sure, the software shouldn't affect the operation on older cars, but the firmware may - but it can always be downgraded if needed using the firmware update tool.

Hi marc.. my diagbox is version 7.02. I've just tried an update to 7.04 and it has failed.. lucky its on my second running unit so im not stuffed. I'm fairly sure I've a full chip vci ... so its software for later cars im after. I assume despite links on google its not downloadable.

Thanks

Scratch it. We are gonna invest in a newer lexia kit to cover the newer cars. I've still the older one...

So... Best place to get a guaranteed full chip unit other then easidiagnostic.. nothing against them just if there is a slightly cheaper outlet other then dodgy ebay

Cheers

If your laptop supports visualisation then there is fully functioning version of 9.68 on a virtual machine floating about you can download. If the VCI is full chip, it should update the driver to the latest - mine did when I plugged it in, although I have yet to actually check it will talk to the car!!

Seems you can run a virtual machine on Chromebook, worth investigating. Not sure XP is going to cut it on later Diagbox versions!

Doesn't matter now. I've downloaded the software via a fb group dedicated to diagbox and pp2000 ...

So we shall see what happens next.
