Citroen C5 X7 second key and Parking Assistance problems

Unread post by vodnasol »

Hi all,
I have two problems:
1.I programmed a second key with remote(chinese knockoff) and noticed that when I lock the car with the remote the windows close( a short press on the button).
2.The rear sensors of the parktronic are giving inaccurate readings. I checked for any errors with Lexia but there were none.

Reason: Removed "Parktronic" from title top avoid confusion - not a PSA term.

1) ? The windows are supposed to close with a long press on the remote - I don't see what the problem is. :-k

2) The parking assistance will have a fault code if there is a problem. The ECU self tests and if there is a sensor error it will throw a fault and deactivate the system. This can occur intermittently and may be something like water or liquid spilled onto the parking assistance ECU in the trunk (this can happen from leaking bottles), or it can be one or more faulty sensors or a bad connection to one or more sensors causing the intermittent behaviour.

Hi
The problem is that I'm just pressing the lock button without holding and the windows still go up

Then you most likely have a faulty remote or one that is not correct for your vehicle. The electronics in the fobs determine what function the fob performs depending on the buttons pressed and for how long. It is likely sending the wrong command to the car.
