I’ve tried searching the forum for existing answers to my question so forgive me if it’s already been covered, happy to be linked to an existing answer:
If a 2001 diesel xantia has “bouncy” suspension, is this likely to need just the main 4 spheres changed? Could it be something else? What might I need to check. Any recommendations for sites for parts?
Many thanks
Mike

Re: Bouncy suspension
Are you sure you don't mean 'hard'? As in hard resistance to firm pushing of the corners of the vehicle? The usual signs of spheres that need replacing or re-gassing is that the ride is very hard and hard bumps are felt more frequently, as the low gas in the spheres means the car is being suspended more from the tyres than the spheres.
Replacing the spheres would be my first choice in these circumstances.
However if you are saying the car is way too bouncy as in soft bouncy suspension, I would suggest that spheres with the incorrect pressures have been fitted.

Re: Bouncy suspension
If the spheres are totally flat, the only suspension is the flex in the tyres, and the car does feeline it is bouncing down the road.

Re: Bouncy suspension
Thanks for the replies, Sorry for the poor description, yes, the ride is firm so bounces on bumps in the road. I appreciate it’s hard to be sure, but is it likely to just be the wheel spheres? Or is it likely that if these 4 need replacement, other parts should be looked at too?
Thanks

Re: Bouncy suspension
It is probably just the spheres, but the accumulator and anti-sink spheres are probably in similar condition.
