Hi everyone, I am hoping someone has an idea why my 2014 Relay continually speaks to me in Italian when all other language settings are set to English.
I have been through all of the menu's and ensured all of the menu settings are in English but when it comes to the Bluetooth voice it is in Italian ........ When I pair the phone, its in italian, in fact anything to do with the Bluetooth its in Italian. Nothing on my phone is in Italian. I have been through the printed user manual, no mention of a language changer, I have downloaded the PDF manual, no mention of a language setting on pages 185 to 191. Can some one please help me on this.
Unfortunately the Relay is a Fiat collaboration and uses Fiat Head units which are by all accounts a nightmare when they go wrong.
Depending on your build date and model, you may have factory fitted bluetooth as part of the main head unit as opposed to a separate hands free unit - which were frequently going wrong. However, you may also have a fleet telematics monitoring system installed, so it could be something to do with that.
In any case, that's why you are getting Italian, as something has reverted back to the default language. I suspect you will need a dealer visit to get a diagnostic done to either configure the language correctly. If you have tried setting all the language options from the unit yourself, it may be language needs to be changed with a diagnostic tool. This can be common where the unit has been replaced with a second hand part from another vehicle that was coded for Italian, and although you can change the user interface language, you may not be able to change some part of it at the internal level.
