Hello,
I have an original Citroën key and an aftermarket one for my C5 R model from 2005. My problem is that even after programming both keys, i can not syncronise the remote function.
The aftermarket one, which I got from e-bay, has been programmed and cut. I can start the engine with it, but I can not unlock the doors not mechanically (can't be turnt), nor electronically. The original works with both.
I saw a guy on YouTube who synced the keys for his citroen C5, I tried the same way, but it would not work, not even for the original one. The procedure was the same which is shown near the end of key programming with Lexia, tried only that too, but did not work.
Can somebody please help me with this?

Did the original remote work OK before you tried to program the new one?
Was the key blade cut to code or did you just get someone to duplicate it? If they duplicated it did they also do the side cuts?
Can you post a pic of both keys to see what you have?
Have you confirmed the remote batteries are good and that they are the right way around? This is an easy mistake to make and can catch people out.

Yes the original works well and as intended, like before the programming and after... no problems there.
The other key was duplicated and the side cuts have been made. The battery is the right way around.
If I can make the other key work mechanically, i would already be satisfied, since I only need it as a backup.
I am not quite sure if I should post pictures of my key profile on the internet, especially onto a forum where anybody from around the world could see it. I am sorry but in my eyes this would be a silly idea. Just look up a picture of Citroen C5 keys with remote. It should look something like the pictures shown down below.

You would really need to get the signal from the remote tested, if this is ok then my best guess would be an incompatible remote.
As for the mechanical part, i’d take it back to the person that cut the key as the clearly haven’t done it right.

That is what I am thinking about the mechanical part too.
The wierd thing is that I can not even resync the original one and I know that its signal is OK.
Normally when you switch the ingition on, you have 10 seconds to press and hold the lock button for 5 seconds to resync the key/s. As you press down the button, you should hear a "BEEP" sound, letting you know that the syncronisation procedure has started.
But for me it does not do that. Not even with the original one.
It even says you do not need a diagnostic tool to do that. See in the picture below:

I have successfully done this procedure literally hundreds of times & never once have I heard a beep. Some other manufacturers cars beep or chime to let you know they are in programming mode but not PSA cars.Dav03k wrote: 10 Jul 2022, 22:27 As you press down the button, you should hear a "BEEP" sound, letting you know that the syncronisation procedure has started.
Might be worth trying a BSI reset then try to resync?
EDIT: I just watched the video you posted, the beep you can hear is just the beep you get when turning the ignition on.

I might try to reset the BSI, but you can clearly see and hear that at minute 4:40 an onwards in the video, the beep only occurs as you press the lock button.
Thank you for your replies btw.
