Cleaning the inside of the tail lights?
Both of my tail lights have small cracks which allowed for dust and stuff to gather inside of the plastic over time. Can it be safely cleaned?

Re: Cleaning the inside of the tail lights?
There are 2 lamp clusters on the saloon. Both can be removed entirely once the securing bolts are removed. They lift away from the outside.
This issue is going to remain so long as there is a crack, due tot he airflow of the vehicle, so water and dirt will get in. The only way to stop this is to replace it. Consider getting one from a breakers yard or search on ebay for a replacement. Cleaning it out is going to be very tiresome and awkward, with a risk of breaking the fragile retaining clips. If it was me I would be replacing it, otherwise moisture and dirt is going to cloud the lens and it will become degraded. The lenses are very awkward to clean due tot he other components inside, and they are very fragile.
ebay have the left and right ones here for £14.95 each!

Re: Cleaning the inside of the tail lights?
Cheers Marc. I need the bigger, outside ones, those are cracked slightly (Are they also considered tail lights or did I use the wrong wording?
). I did see them being sold from dismantled vehicles for less than new, but thought I could clean them. Guess I'll just eventually replace them. Better than to screw something up

Ok, so your outer wing lights are: 6350EW for the rear right side and 6351EW for the rear left.

Re: Cleaning the inside of the tail lights?
I have had success using the glue / weld for pvc evacuation pipes (gutters / sinks etc.) with a cracked lens on my 406 years ago. Be warned though, it's not very pretty and depending where the repair is may impede the luminosity.

Yeah the cracks aren't too bad I guess, and off to the side. Just a little cosmetic thing, otherwise all works fine.moizeau wrote: 11 Jul 2022, 12:32 I have had success using the glue / weld for pvc evacuation pipes (gutters / sinks etc.) with a cracked lens on my 406 years ago.
