Hello Everyone,
Been having some grief trying to get a carbon filled injector and sleeve out of the car and eventually succeded having replaced the sleeve etc.
Been reading one of only a few topics regarding a suggestion the bolts are stretch bolts, so tonight I thought that I would try to carefully remove them with the intention of renewing them.
I sheared the top of first one straight at the torx/star point.
Is there a knack to get these studs out without damaging them or is it best to just leave them insitu and keep tightening them to the specified torque and "hope" it doesnt shear?
Thank you in advance

Get 2 nuts 10mm screw the first one onto the thread then screw the second one on top of the first get a 10mm spanner hold the bottom nut while locking the top nut onto the bottom nut using another 10mm spanner when tight use the spanner on the bottom nut to undo the broken stud by undoing the lower nut , it will not come undo as the top nut locks it in place but should make the stud turn, these studs can be purchased on ebay as full sets for less than 20 quid.

Tip, has worked for me sometimes, don't know why !
Once you've got the double nuts on, make the first move to tighten the stud a bit (you should feel the 'lock' break), then try and undo ...

Huskyxantia suggestion is a good one, unfortunately the top of the stud is M7, so a bit harder to find nuts to suit (11mm head)
Weirdly the lower bit screwed into the aluminium head is M6, why a stud would step up in diameter (M6 to M7) I just can't fathom!
I had success removing them with an impact screwdriver, but the tighten then loosen technique could be a winner too.
On the loosening injector fixings conundrum: I have replaced the standard injector clamp nuts with M7 Nyloc nuts, again more difficult to find than common M6 or M8 (mine are off eBay) in the hope the Nyloc function is sufficient to keep them from backing off so readily. Done to standard torque setting. Seems ok so far.

Nah, nah! Co-developed with Ford! I'm sure they should be blamed for it!
