Peugeot 407Sw 2.0Hdi

Unread post by Buddytod1951 »

Hello everyone. Peugeot 407SW 2.0 Diesel 2009. Starts first time every time, drives faultlessly 99% of the time but recently (last month) I have experienced an intermittent 'momentary hesitation' similar to fuel starvation. The car 'jolts' once or twice but then carries on perfectly well. This scenario might occur once in a week or so. It is completely random and as I say, 99% of the time the car runs perfectly. No fault codes are generated and I have fitted a new Fuel filter/ Air filter. EGR blanked several months ago. Wynns Diesel treatment added (Injector cleaner etc). I would be very grateful for any advice as to what may be causing this. Since the problem is intermittent with no fault codes recorded help from local garage not forthcoming.

Expect problems if you have blanked the EGR. This Forum doesn't condone emissions device crippling as it's illegal (part of the EGR function is to reduce NOx) on road going vehicles, so advice is to get the EGR cleaned and operational to avoid problems.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

I would definitely unblank the EGR first. If that doesn't help I'd be thinking turbo issue.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.
