C4 Picasso Turbo / Limp mode problem

Unread post by nicolla »

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with turbo on vacation.
To tell you the story, maybe you can help if you read the context, my car is 2007 C4 Picasso 2.0hdi full automatic

We were in our way to Greece and in 4am in middle of North Macedonia we hit a hole and our tyre was gone with a 10 centimeter hole. Luckily I wasnt going fast, probably somewhere around 60km/h. we had to find a solution next morning since I dont have a spare wheel and we continued our journey.

1hr later I stopped at the gas station and saw that the coolant liquid was all over the engine bay and the bowl was empty, probably I havent closed the lid hard enough and it pushed the liquid out under the pressure. Added the liquid, closed the bowl and we continied our journey. Stayed at the same level after

We entered Greece, going towards Lefkada island, and somewhere in the hills our car started losing power, can go uphil only like 40-50km/h.

We are now at our vacation spot, hilly Lefkada, but I have to fix car here, there are no mechanics here and I'm looking for a solution.

This is my first idea. Liquid (from my previous paragraph) entered turbo boost solenoid. Dont know what can I do about that, maybe you can help. But I'm sure I can reolace it myself if I find the spare part

Second option, this is my solenoid, I'm not sure if there was third pipe and if it fell off somewhere along the way, this is the pic of my solenoid:

If there was the third pipe, any clue where I can look for it can help me a lot, havent found it lurking around the bay

Thank you all for reading my sad vacation stories

That boost valve has been fiddled with, sure it didn't leave the factory held on by a cable tie!

Unfortunately the only real recourse us to get it on a diagnostic computer and see what it's upset about, anything else is pretty much poke and hope.

Probably related to your current issue. As Richard said, you'll have to find someone to hook it up to a computer. I only know of a service for Citroen in Thessaloniki, maybe you can try one of those FB groups, I think there is one called Live From Greece or something.(just search it on FB, 150k members) :) Hopefully someone can help there. Day kontakt od tog u Solunu ako znaš nekog ko je provereno dobar a i razume malo engleski, ovi na Lefkadi su nesposobni verovatno, lagano ?u do Soluna pa ?emo da vidimo verovatno :)

[Day contact from the one in Thessaloniki if you know someone who is proven to be good and understands a little English, those in Lefkada are probably incompetent, I'll take it easy to Thessaloniki and we'll probably see]

I found that you can use a wheel of a c3 xsara picasso on the c4 grand picasso I have a 2012, if you get one make sure you get the wheel studs to go with it if possible.
