Hello there, some little context here (you can skip to the next paragraph). My 12 years-old battery finally died on me while I was parked in a ramp facing down so there was no way I could jump-start the car from someone else's car. So I had to push it a bit backwards upohill with a neighbour and asked him if he could push start it as I never did it before. So he jumps in the cabin but I couldn't push the car uphill just by myself so another neighbour joins in. We managed to push it like 2-3 meters and when the car reaches the top, the neighbour inside furiously slams the handbrake for whatever reason and we hear a snap, poof. I don't know why he did that, he could've used the pedal break. Anyways, after that he starts the car and I go buy a new battery.
With the battery changed, I opened up the middle/central console of my C3 to have a look inside at the handbrake. It seems that the cable that connects the lever to the little yellow thingy frayed next to the lever where I think it is connected to the screw that adjust the tension of the cable. I tried looking everywhere online but I can't find a replacement, all I find is the cables going from inside the cabin outside to the wheels. Is this cable available to buy in general or do I have to buy the lever with the whole mechanism? Thank you for reading this.

Looks like Citroen don't list it as a separate part, it comes with the complete handbrake assembly. There are a few variations depending on build data & whether it has rear disc or drum brakes, some are also no longer available from Citroen. The price new starts at around £147 UK Pounds.
Id be looking at one from a breakers.

Hey, thank you for your reply. By breakers do you mean the people that strip cars for parts to sell them?wheeler wrote: 01 Jul 2022, 17:42 Looks like Citroen don't list it as a separate part, it comes with the complete handbrake assembly.
