DS7 Rear Suspension

Post by Iansel »

If you have a DS7 make sure you get the rear suspension thoroughly checked out before the warranty runs out. Mine is just under 3 years old and requires major work to replace bushes and arms. Cost would be just under £1000 if I were paying.

If you are buying one second hand make sure that rear suspension is OK. Should be picked up by the MOT inspection but you never know.

Bet you're glad you found that now rather than later.

It's well worth getting that 3rd birthday MOT for any car a bit early, just to ensure that anything found is covered by the warranty. I definitely did with ours.

You can get an MOT up to a month early without affecting its expiry date, i.e. if a month early you'll get a 13-month MOT.

But... if an early MOT is failed for a fault stated as "dangerous" then it can not be driven, even if the previous MOT is still valid.

NotAnInterestingName - Certainly am!

In fact it was failing the MOT that got the warranty replacement.

I told them when booking in that there was a clonk from the rear suspension. Their tech road tested and claimed he couldn't hear anything.

The MOT tester condemned the rear suspension so they had no choice. The only negative is that the car is now off the road till they get the parts. Given this is not an isolated case on the DS7 why dont they hold stock!

You'll be OK to carry on driving it if the previous MOT is still valid as long as they haven't said "Dangerous" on the new MOT failure certificate.

That is - if you're happy to.
