Citroen C5 X7 U1113 fault code

Hello dear french car owners,

Have bought my first Citroen about a month ago, the car is Citroen C5 X7 2011 1.6HDi 82kw, 5 speed manual gearbox. VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
The problems are following:

1. Limit speed control and cruise control is not working, however buttons are responding;
2. When in 5th gear and accelerating the control panel is showing *6* as to switch to 6th gear speed (which doesnt exist);
3. After diagnostics the tool showed U1113 fault.

There are no fault displayed on dashboard.

Does anyone have any ideas where to start looking?

It looks like the previous owner has either replaced the instrument panel with the incorrect part or mis-configured some settings in the instrument panel / BSI. There are a lot of instrument panels depending on vehicle fuel type, specification and options fitted and they are all designed to work with the correct equipment fitted at factory. What maximum KM/h speedometer range is shown?

Ok, so having looked a bit further the U1113 error is as follows:

Fault Code:	U1113
Description of Fault:	Intersystems CAN: Absence of communication with the ABS/ESP ECU. Faults in communication between ECUs on the CAN network. At least one of the following conditions must be fulfilled: - Ignition switched on - Engine running
Conditions for Fault to clear:	Driving for 5 minutes
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:	Jerking/stalling Starting problem Lack of power
Symptoms:	Irreversible deactivation of the vehicle cruise control.
Suspect Areas:	Engine ECU Intersystem CAN network

So basically the speed limiter and cruise control are deactivated if there is an issue with the vehicle's speed information being incorrect or a problem with the data stream. As a consequence it is also affecting the info sent tot he gear change selector display or it is sending invalid data. Normally this would have a '-' in the display instead of a gear number.

So the intersystems CAN network is not getting correct data from the ABS / ESP ECU. Have you had any work done on the tyres or brakes lately? Any chance that somebody has upset any wiring from the ESP ECU to the engine ECU?

These would be my first checks - looking at all the electrical connection blocks on these units to make sure they have not been disturbed or any of the wires damaged.

As i have this car only for a month, can`t say for sure what has been done under the hood lately, thought wiring doesn`t seem to be disturbed.
Thing i know is that previous owner has changed wheels before selling car.

It is possible that reason of all these problems is broken/disturbed ABS sensor or its wiring?

If you had a faulty ABS sensor then a diagnostic should pick that up and indicate which one was faulty. That is if the communication with the ESP ECU is working - which at present it seems not, so until you find the CAN network issue, you may have communications issues running diagnostics on certain ECUs.

The Intersystems CAN links multiple ECUs together, so I obviously can't put up all of these, however this one below is the ABS / ESP diagram.

I have similar problem on my 407 RHH engine.
U1218 Intersystem CAN error is registered both by BSI and ECU. Whereas the gearbox AM6 has U2000 fault code.
