BX Rear Arm Lube Mod

Folks,
I am aware that the "sealed for life" rear arms on the CX and XM can be modified to add an oiling point to prolong bearing life.
Can this be done on a BX?

Yes, with a bit of care it can be done in situ too, drill and tap the housing from underneath with M6 thread and fit a grease nipple, I used a gloopy mixture of grease and gear oil.

Rather than start a 50 long string of posts on the pros & cons of doing this let's just say that this does not actually lube the bearings but it does extend their life considerabley.
There are many reasons often debated but at the end of the day; it works.
