Zsara Picasso mk2 abs problem

Unread post by Alfaandy »

Hi, I’ve got a 2010 car which had an intermittent abs fault that is now permanent, the light and warning message is displayed soon after starting but goes off when I drive, I general garage diagnosed the abs relay/ pump, I removed and sent off to be repaired but it came back as having no faults, I refitted and off course I still have the problem, need to fix as the car is due mot, any ideas or does it need diagnostic

Simply put, yes. It needs a proper diagnostic. The ABS system performs a self-check on startup and if it finds a fault it will throw up a warning. The worst thing you can do is to start spending money on replacing / repairing parts without knowing the cause or getting some pointers.

Get a proper diagnostic first with Lexia / Diagbox, then put the codes up here along with your VIN.

The most common ABS problems relate to a faulty speed sensor on one of the wheels. But without a diagnostic you won't know where to start. This can often happen with wheel changes or brake / disc changes where a sensor is damaged or it may be that it has become damaged from a pothole or knock - but these will be guesses until diagnosed.

Have a look at our list of members who have offered Lexia / Peugeot Planet / Diagbox Diagnostics help if you haven't already seen it - link below:

At the end of the list is a link to a Google Map, showing the geographic locations of members and details. Just use the Private Message or Email links on the member's profile to contact anyone suitable.

List of Lexia / Diagbox Owners with Kits Offering Help

Bear in mind, although we update the list as often as we can, not all members are active on the Forum all the time, so it may take a while for a reply.

On everyone's profile at the left of each post is a "Contact" icon, 'speech bubble' with three dots in it. Click that on one of his posts and then click the PM one (on the left, the other is for email).
