Hi, I've got a Citroen c4 grand picasso on a 2018 plate.
My keyless entry has gone from working perfectly, to only working 1 way ie,locking. To not working at all. I've changed the key fob battery and it got worse after that.
Also the car alarm has started randomly going off, 1/2 a week.
Key opens car remotely and car starts and runs great, battery hasn't been disconnected.
Does it need re syncing? Can't find out how to do this .Or reprogramming?

Re: Keyless entty
Have you replaced the fob battery?
Daughter's Megane had the same problems and it was the fob battery depleted.

Re: Keyless entty
You need to reinitialise the fob if you have changed the battery.
Open the car and get in, then place the fob into the key reader and then press the stop / start button which will turn the ignition on.
This is how your reinitialise it.

Hi,
Sorry to butt in. Marc you refer to a key reader and I’m a bit puzzled. My keyless entry will work with keys in my pocket. Is the key reader a separate piece of kit or is it a feature on some models? Sorry for my curiosity but I’m still trying to get used to my new car.
Thanks
Kevin

Yes for keyless entry and starting enabled vehicles (in this case I am using the C3 Aircross in the picture below), there is reader integrated into the steering column as shown below. If something were to go awry with the fob (say you dropped it and damaged the electronics or there was a fault with the vehicle system that detects the fob) then you would use the emergency mechanical key contained in the fob to open the door. This would probably set the alarm off, so you then place the fob against the electronic reader panel as shown below and press the start / stop button on the dash.
This would unlock the electronic steering lock and allow the car to be started in such cases.
Secondly the other purpose is when the fob battery is replaced, it needs to be initialised, so again after replacing the fob battery, you just hold the fob against the reader and press the stop / start ignition button ti reinitialise the fob.
If you click on the image, you can see the symbol more clearly
