2009 Peugeot partner 1,9 diesel

Unread post by panicmechanic »

Hi everyone

We purchased a Peugeot partner for a very reasonable price it worked well till one day the bonnet was left open and it rained, the vehicle never started again we were told that water got into the module/fuse box/ bsi (not sure what is the right name for it) and burnt it.

Please advise what to do

Is it possible that the computer box is still fine?

Just need to change the bsi? then does it need coding?

Is there any way to check if the computer box is ok?

Do we need new computer box new bsi new key?

I've been told alot of things but i want to do the right thing and pay once

The BSI is inside the car, the BSM is the under bonnet fusebox, these are not coded or matched to any other component.
There should be a water resistant cover fitted over this, was it correctly fitted?

Its the one under the bonnet that burnt, so do i just change it and it will work? No need for key programming?

I think it might be ok to change with another unit it holds fuses and some relays not sure but the main bsi is inside the vehicle might be best to speak to someone whom works in a breakers yard and see what they say.
Husky. :? Thinking outside of the box is better than sitting in a dark one.
