ax gt mk2 bootlock fault

i have managed to get hold of a mint mk2 axgt for a little messing with then sell on but i have a fault with the boot lock on it!
1st u have to slam the boot to get it to catch, 2nd wen it does the central locking wont lock it although the solenoid still functions
apparantly its a common fault but know garage will tell me without looking at it the they will probably charge me (bastards) as much help wud be appreciated

Pretty sure it's either the lock mechanism or the catch that has budged.
Simply a matter of a couple of hrs fiddling, trial & error.

have to agree with andersdk just by moving the catch up and down untill it works.

I agree with Anders, check the alignment of the lock mech & make sure it hasnt had a rear end whoopsie..[B)]
