Crankshaft pulley on TU3S

Post by macaroni »

Anyone got any hints on how to remove the crankshaft pulley on a pug TU3D engine? The bolt is really tight and I can't remove it.
Cheers,
Antony

Crankshaft pulley bolts are usually b******s to get out. Not only are they tight but they are put in using locktite. Therefore, to soften the glue, get the engine up to working temperature. You need to lock the flywheel to stop the engine turning, but don't use the timing hole. Sometimes you can get away with using reverse gear with brakes applied. It helps if you have sufficient socket extensions to clear the wing so that a long tommybar can be used.

Sorted - I used a handy impact wrench and undid the bolt without any body else helping.
I ran the motor for a while first and it came off in seconds - job done.
Cheers.
