Hi there,
this morning I turned on my C5 X7 (2011, 68k) and after 20meters I had an ESP faulty message, and right after the Faulty brake message intermittently. I was suspecting a bad ABS sensor but after 5/10 minutes I received a power steering faulty message.
I suspect some water contamination but, after all the afternoon in the sun, the messages came back on the way home, again in the same sequence...
I find the faulty brake pretty annoying since it turns off the tachometer and the odometer, which I find more dangerous than helpful (is that normal???).
Any suggestion on what could be happening? Everything seems to be working fine, so I am a bit clueless.
I appreciate any suggestion!
Thank you!
Matteo

First thing I'd look at is the battery condition and then the fuses in the main fuse box. These random, apparently unrelated, faults are often down to electrical glitches.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

The battery is new and I checked the fuses recently, since the wipers stopped working last week and then started working again...
I'll check again though! Thanks!

Re: ESP Faulty, Brake Faulty, Power Steering Faulty...
Had similar issues on a C3 some years ago. The ABS ECU had failed, triggering a range of faults in other equipment (some requiring a signal from the ABS, and some just downstream on the bus).
Bear in mind that the ESP and power steering may require a speed signal from the ABS computer. So you will lose any power steering speed variability with the error. On the C3 the actual speedometer broke too!
I have no knowledge of the X7 specifically, but it's probably worth getting a diagnostic check.
