Hi, I have a 2008 Citroen C5. On two occasions at the end of a journey, after I have turned off the engine, my suspension has played up. Instead of settling into its resting position it has continued to go up and down for several minutes even when the key has been removed from the ignition.
Has anyone else had this problem or know what is causing this?

Make sure the steering wheel is straight ahead and that you are not parked on a pavement (so that the car is at an angle).

Re: C5 suspension
Thank you for your reply. Both times I was parked straight and in a flat parking space.

Re: C5 suspension
Ok in that case you have the old 'nodding' issue.
This was more prevalent on the early MK I vehicles, for which there was a BHI software calibration update they could apply to resolve this.
You say you have a 2008 model - it this a MK II or a MK III X7?
If it's a MK III X7, then unfortunately it could be the front or rear hydraulic blocks (stiffness regulator). These have specific checks to be undertaken that involves uncoupling the return oil pipes to the BHI and checking the oil return flow - if the flow is permanent then there is an internal leak, but if there is only a drop by drop flow, then the system is ok.
If these conform, then you may have a problem with one or more of the height correctors.

Re: C5 suspension
Ok so on the MK II (MK I facelift) you should have a BHI where the ECU can be updated, so may be worth speaking to Citroen to see if there is a software update available. They will want to run a diagnostic first to check the version of the software you have, then this will be compared with the version recommended on their servers when they hook it up.
Having said that, I would of expected this issue to be resolved though on a MK II as the 'nodding' is no longer listed as a technical issue, but may be worth a check.
