Electronic mirror adjust not working *Passenger side)

Unread post by tizdaz »

Hi guys, after i replaced the heated mirror glass on my mirror as old one was damaged, I've realised that nothing happens when i try to adjust is using the control in the doorpanel?

The driver side one works with no probs but passenger side is dead & doesn't work at all no matter what direction i try. Is there a Fuse i can check or what else might it be?

Thanks :)

First try lifting up the driver's control pad using some trim tools to carefully remove it. Then inspect the wiring plugs to ensure they are not loose. Next, check both the driver and passenger door apertures where the wiring goes from the door through to the engine bay. The wires are protected by rubber tube-like grommets. You can remove these and then check for breakages in the wires - as this is a common fail where the doors are opened and shut causing stress on these wires.

ok had a lok at the control panel for mirrors on driver side and it seems ok, was unable to check wires going through from door to main body as unable to get the grommets out! :( im thinking it might be worth checking the fuse, is it a seperate fuse for the left & right mirror, or do both mirrors share same fuse?

Thanks guys!

I don't think it will be the fuse otherwise the other mirror would not work, but these are the fuses in the cabin

F4 is the fuse for the driver's control pad that controls the mirrors
F2 is the 10A Fuse for the Heated Element of the Mirrors

The fuses are here in the passenger side behind the govebox:

The Sleeve for the door unclips with trim removal tools here:

ok an update for this!

Today i took my car for a diagnosis @ Citroen regarding a different subject which i covered in another topic, but while there i told them about my wing mirror and if they could check what the issue was, they ran checks & they said there is power going all way through to the mirror so its nothing to do with switches or the wiring & they said the issue will be the mirror its self (motor) he said the motors cant be replaced separately in the mirrors (is this true?) if so does this mean i need to buy whole new mirror unit, or can i replace just the inner parts and re-use the casing etc?

Cheers :)

It means a new mirror unfortunately if they have tested the wiring, as there are no replaceable parts for the mirror apart from the glass and the shell cap.

You can get these from Citroen of course, but you may find you can get an aftermarket mirror - but you need to be exactly sure which exact mirror you have as these differ depending on trim level and options. If you get the wrong one it won't work as the electrical connections won't be correct. Apart from the electrically adjusting, electrically folding, heated mirror options, some have puddle lights and some have blind spot monitoring diodes in the glass if you have that option....

Or look for a second hand one. Aftermarket ones will likely need painting, unless you can swap the shell over (assuming it fits).
