Hi
I have a Peugeot 308 Gt 180 E HDI.
I have heavy black smoke under acceleration, so much so the DPF blocks inside a month. I bought the car with this fault & have gradually worked through it's issues. So far I have replaced the fuel filter as it was partially blocked, full service inc new air filter, new battery as it was flagging abs issues when low voltage. Nox sensor as it was giving heating errors.
I have Diagbox & the only codes relate to the DPF blocking, a forged regen cleared these, but they return as does the risk of particle filter blocking.
The previous owner had the pressure sensor replaced, the dpf cleaned & a new turbo, I can't hear any whistling & can't see any pipe splits, the turbo does boost but acceleration is not linear & black smoke belches out, the service light & risk of particle filter blocking appear, then clear when you come off boost.
My thoughts are to unplug the MAF, see if that helps & to look at the injectors in Diagbox, I have V9.95.
I have read every thread on here & googled extensively before posting. Any ideas/wisdom or suggestions as to how I could chase this down. many thanks for reading. David

Re: Heavy Black smoke under acceleration
You really shouldn't have any black smoke if the DPF is a) actually present or b) working or c) you have an engine fuel system imbalance.
HDi engines should never smoke if they are working correctly. Assuming the DPF is present and working, then it may be clogging far too quickly because of the engine air / fuel misture.
This can be the result of faulty injectors, a clogged EGR valve or the MAF sending incorrect data to the engine ECU, such as more air than there is and then the ECU over compensates by adding more fuel - which then causes over-fuelling and the unburned fuel will cause the black smoke.
So it needs some more investigation and probably some further diagnostics including some live data so you can see what's going on. If you have some live data screen shots, consider uploading the pictures here, using the full post editor, attaching the files and placing them. Others may find this helpful.

Hi
Thank you so much for replying.
Attached are screen shots of injectors, which from googling look ok.
And the EGR valve which I can't seem to find any data on.
Any pointers or suggestions of other data to upload? thabnk you
