Lynn,
There are a myriad of different spheres for different Xantias - I am pretty sure the rears on estates and hatches, even with the same engine, are different. Given that new spheres (to the correct spec!) are available from GSF for about £20 each, it's not really worth taking the risk on ones of suspect origin.

You also do not know how long they have been in stock - they lose pressure in storage and have a finite shelf life. Richard is quite right!

Estate front spheres are the same as hatchback fronts, but the rears are certainly not. If you put Estate rear spheres on a Hatch you will find that the ride is decidedly firm at the rear.
I think all non-hydractive Xantias post 1996 had the same set of spheres (i.e. a Hatchback set or an Estate set) regardless of engine but prior to that the smaller petrols and the non-turbo diesel had a different set of spheres to those fitted later to all.
Personally I'd go for GSF spheres, you will get the right ones for your car, they will be new and won't have spent years on a shelf in a warehouse somewhere.
