207 outer cv joint

occasionaly get a clicky sound from the cv joint when steering and with a little power, can the outer cv joint be replaced on a 207 or is it a replacement shaft needed?

car had an mot advisory a couple of years back for split boot on the same side, previous owner must have fixed that but chances are it let in some grit and its finally starting to show itself.

PSA only provide the left and right shafts complete.

That's true of all PSA shafts, but apart from a few on C5 X7s they all have removable outer joints. Have a look at J&R shafts, if one is available almost certain they will do it.

just started the job today, think I got it just in time, old cv joint came off quite easy

its insides were knackered, it didnt have long to go before it failed completely.

CV Joint was bought off ebay, the old one came off the shaft quite easy, the same side had an mot fail/advisory on its previous owner for a split boot, dirt has got in, its pointless just putting a new boot on once dirt has got in.

Yeah, think you,'ve had your money's worth out of that one! I had one go on my 307, when I stripped it off just greasy water ran out, no wonder it was shot
