I have a 2008 expert tepee. My suspension warning light came on yesterday. Ran global check today and communication error comes up against pneumatic suspension with fault saying cannot communicate with ECU or level sensors. Does this point towards a failed ECU? I have looked at all 30a fuses under dash and appear to be ok ( however fuse and relay board don't look like any of the pictures I see online). Is there another way to check ECU is getting power?
Thanks

Re: Pneumatic suspension
It likely means the suspension ECU is not getting either any data or valid data front he rear height correctors. These can become stuck or rust as they are exposed to the elements. You do need to obtain the fault codes though in order to help identify the actual fault.

Re: Pneumatic suspension
Thanks mark. I have established that power is getting to ECU. Fairly sure fault code was E42 but will check again tomorrow.

Re: Pneumatic suspension
Fault codes are longer than that - usually 4-5 alphanumeric. But if you have the fault codes, pop them up here with the VIN.

Vin is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Fault code is 041 - no communication with rear ride height corrector ecu or the pneumatic suspension ECU.
My local garage have had a look at it on their snap on unit but cannot diagnose anything and suggest it needs a main dealer.

Re: Pneumatic suspension
Ok, those aren't valid Peugeot Fault codes, so are probably from a basic code reader that doesn't have constructor-code reading capabilities, so not much help there.
PSA codes for this suspension system are 5 alpha numeric and begin with either C, P or U, i.e.: C161E, C1196 etc.

Re: Pneumatic suspension
The code is from diagbox software. I don't think it can get any more info as ECU is not communicating. Not sure what to do next.

Yes, I'd take it to the dealer as 1) you won't get height corrector parts or suspension components elsewhere - they are bespoke to PSA and it will need setting up afterwards most likely. So may pay off to get it sorted in one go.
