Hello all. Greetings.
A week ago I had this car running normal then suddenly lost power while on the way home. Lot's of white smoke come from the exhaust, and engine refuse to rev above 1000. Initially I thought turbo gone, just before I decided to pull the car over the engine started working again.
Managed get back home and spend a few days trying find the fault.
There is no engine managment light on for this problem, and the fault is come and go. While the other day the problem occurs and I was cleaning the throttle body I pull the vacuum pipe (link to it) off a solenoid behind the air filter box(see picture) , the engine runs back to normal. Put the pipe back again engine refuse go above 1000rpm and white smoke again. So I have replaced that solenoid and did a test run today, problem remains. Pull the car over and removed the pipe, drove home without any problem.
So, Does anyone experiencing this kind of issue and does anyone have any idea what's that solenoid is for?
Many thanks in advance and thank you for spending your time reading this.
I have changed the fuel filter, engine oil/ filter, cleaned the intake throttle and air filter.

Re: Citroen c8 2.0 HDI Throttle problem.
You'll need to pop your VIN up (automasked) as there are lots of 2.0 HDi variants.
