Hi,
New member.
Just looking for some advise please. My Berlingo van, 2006 1.9D, has unrepairable water damage due to a badly fitted windscreen, thanks National Windscreens. The BSI unit was soaked and the information from it can’t be retrieved. I have located a matching BSI, ECU, and key card from a scrap dealer. Can anyone advise, what is the keycard please? Do I need any other items from the donor vehicle such as key, locks, speedo. Just about to scrap the van so this is my last chance to save it. It only has 75000 on the clock and is in great condition .
Thanks for any advice. Happy to supply my email and mobile number if anyone would like to contact me and if it is permitted on this forum.
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Berlingo BSI, ECU issue
The key card is the security card needed to perform certain procedures on the vehicle (such as, for example, coding in a new key). When a technician has to perform any 'security locked' function the system will ask for the four digit code before allowing them access to that function.
to the Forum, by the way. If you have any major technical questions do post them up. The Forum Administrators can usually answer most questions. However, for certain information the PSA Group will charge the Forum for the relevant access. If you are asked to pay a donation (typically £10) this is why. However, your donation would then cover you for up to two years of data searches, which is a lot better value than that you would get from the PSA Group (they charge for a set amount of time, and the clock DOES NOT STOP when you log out so if you 'bought' 1 hour access and logged out after 15 minutes the clock does not stop at that moment; it continues until it runs out. Then, if you were to log back in believing you still had 45 minutes remain you would be sorely disappointed!).

Re: Berlingo BSI, ECU issue
You want at least one working key from the donor also, you can swap the chip & retain your existing locks.
I’d need to look this up but if I remember right on the DW8 engine its the BSI & the stop solenoid on the pump that is coded, not sure that the ECU is.
Be aware that if the donor BSI has a higher milage than yours your van will inherit the higher miles.
