Strange crankcase noise
Hi, I hear a hum from the crankcase. Noise is heard while the engine is cold. I was told it might be from a nozzle, but I'm not sure. I'm uploading a link from a video you're making, the sound is coming from the crankcase and it's like buzzing. Please help if anyone knows what it could be.

A neighbor from Bulgaria. what I would recommend to you is: take off the PK belt and then start the car. if there is no noise, the problem is in the PK distribution, if it is still there, then you can suspect an oil pump.

Re: Strange crankcase noise
The buzzing noise is going at many times the rate of the engine revs.
Might be alternator, or its external cooling fan fouling on something.
Bits of twig/brushwood can sometimes end up in the engine compartment.

Re: Strange crankcase noise
Two other 'outside the box' thoughts occurred to me, either the oil dipstick bent or in the wrong way round and vibrating against the crankcase or maybe the oil pickup somehow vibrating inside the sump.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Strange crankcase noise
I realized that the noise disappears when the car heats up. means a foreign body in the alternator or part of the meter rod, waste as a cause.

Re: Strange crankcase noise
Some time ago a piece of the measuring rod broke and remained in the crankcase, but so far I have not had any problems.
