Howdy all,
Subsequent to a variety of tasks performed on the C5 (timing belts, water pump etc) the car is running a little warm...perhaps a bar or two on the temp gauge.
The cooling system wasn't bled after assembling everything - so this would be overdue.
I can only find the one bleed point at the rear of the engine on the heater pipe. Other bleed points on the C6 and alternative versions of the C5 don't appear to apply.
Where can I find the other bleed point(s) on my 3.0 car?
Thanks & regards,
Rhys

Re: C5X7 3.0 Coolant bleed points?
I have found that the 2.0. Hdi is pretty well self bleeding, I just filled up, started the engine and kept topping the reservoir up until it didn't take any more. That was when I fitted a new thermostat a couple of years ago, haven't topped it up since. It does go down but only so far then stops.

The complete procedure for draining, filling and de-gassing the X7 is in the Resources section for donating members here:

Re: C5X7 3.0 Coolant bleed points?
After having posted this question - I purchased a copy of all the Citroen manuals......which caters for the C5X7 3.0.
Reading the bleeding procedure, it lists just two bleed points. The one at the rear heater hose (found) and the other at the "Coolant outlet housing".
This isn't the thermostat housing, or any other housing I can find.
I'd appreciate a clue from someone familiar with the 3.0 car on where this point is hiding....and how I might best access it.
Thanks & regards,
Rhys

If it,s the 3.0/24, there are 3 of them 2 on the thermosthaat house and 0ne on the heaterpipe.

It's the 3.0 Diesel. Just replaced the thermostat housing when I did the belts and water pump - defiantly no bleed points on it.
