Diagbox Disconnects When Cranking or When Cutting Out

Post by BadIdea »

Hi,

I'm running Diagbox 7.57 in a Windows 7 VM via VirtualBox with a Lexia Rev C interface and USB passthrough. What I find is that I can't diagnose non-starting issues as it only records data up to the point when I crank the engine - as soon as I turn the key, Diagbox complains of losing the connection and asks me to retry or cancel. Likewise, if I am recording data while the car is running and the engine cuts out, the connection is dropped and it stops recording in the same manner.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Make sure if using virtualbox that the USB ports are not going into power save mode, which they can do when it detects non-use for a while - maybe as a result of the cut out / power drop when switching the ignition on / off. Go into advanced power saving features in control panel, then select 'Advanced Settings' and scroll down until you find the settings for 'USB Selective Suspend'. Make sure this function is disabled to prevent USB ports from going into sleep mode.
