1.6 HDi 8v DV6 oil pump..

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if the 1.6 hdi 8v dv6 engine's oil pump Is self priming?
I've nearly finished changing the pick up/stranier in the sump but i'm having trouble remembering if It does or not..
If It isn't self priming, what's the procedure?
Any info. greatly appeiciated.

Had the strainer off our 16v 3 times, never any issue with priming just started it up and no oil pressure problems.
