External mirror DS4 Crossback
I wish to paint the trendy gloss back mirror cover in the same colour as the rest of the vehicle (Blanc Nacre). I won’t attempt to do the job with it attached to the car. Can someone supply me with a diagram of the mirror which should indicate where clips and screws are on the body of it which will assist in its dismantling.

Re: External mirror DS4 Crossback
The door card will need to come off first Don
Disconnect the connectors (at "a").
Unclip the door grommets (2) using trim removal tools.
Release the harness (3).
Remove the nut (1).
Unclip the exterior rear view mirror (4) using trim removal tools (as "b").
Remove the exterior rear view mirror (4).
Then you can remove the mirror glass, which will allow you to see the clips that hold the outer mirror shell in place - this can be removed so enable you to paint it more easily.
Unclip the exterior rear view mirror shell (6) (as "d")
Release the exterior mirror shell (6) in the direction of the arrow.
Remove the exterior rear view mirror shell (6).

Re: External mirror DS4 Crossback
Marc, Thanks very much for that level of detail. I thought it may have required the removal of the door card but hoping big time that there may have been something simpler. I think the painting part may be a small part of the overall task. I will give myself two days for both mirrors.given that the temperature will be 22 deg. C here tomorrow and no rain forecast for at least a week, it should be ideal for paint application.
I may even think about painting it in situ. I believe I can hear the groans of the perfectionists from here.

Re: External mirror DS4 Crossback
If it's just the rear 'shell', then you don't need to take the complete mirror off, and as a result, no need to remove the door card. Just take the glass mirror off to expose the shell clips above.

Re: External mirror DS4 Crossback
Marc, I took the door card off yesterday in regard to another matter. I must say it was the easiest card removals I have experienced in recent times. With the C5 I normally break at least half the plastic affixers.
