I’ve waited a year to find out whether anyone can save my 2001 C5 Exclusive, but the parts situation is hopeless, so it will have to be scrapped. A crazy situation – it probably only needs a £200 fusebox, or something else electrical, but two very capable mechanics have advised against having further work done on it. Fortunately it only cost £1,600, and has been superb for the eight years I’ve owned it, so it’s proved a remarkably inexpensive way of enjoying high quality motoring.
The only significant expense has been a replacement suspension pump. I opted for a new one, which cost around £1,000. As it’s done very little mileage, I’m wondering whether later C5s used the same design? If so I would ask my mechanic to remove the pump for me, to keep as a spare, as I’m very likely to buy a newer C5. Presumably I should look for a Mark 2, as the parts situation on those should be easier?
Thanks!

Hi, no, the BHIs are different on later models. If you are selling it, you can always put it up on our For Sale / Wanted section.

Many thanks for a quick reply, telling me exactly what I needed to know. I’ll certainly take advantage of the For Sale / Wanted section of the forum – just need a bit of time to work out the best wording.
