Central Locking

Post by tonyb1 »

Just a quick one, I haven't got this problem but it's a niggling thought that I'm sure has an obvious answer. If the battery went completely dead with the Xantia locked (central locking), would it still open up with the key? [:)]

Yes, the door which you unlocked with the key would be unlocked and the others would remain locked, kind of like a car without central locking.

Thankfully they aren't, I remember reading of the problems caused by power dependant locks on early BMW 5 series. If the battery failed completely on those, it was impossible to unlock the car, so the bonnet couldn't be opened either, so you couldn't replace the battery.....Catch 22 [:D]
