Moisture in left front turnsignal DS5 facelift 2015

Post by artois »

Hi,

I noticed that I have moisture in my left turn signal. Is there anyway to easy remove the led indicator, dry and re-seal? Or is this something I should ask a shop to take a look at? Want to fix it before led lamp stops working...

PSA deem some moisture in the lamps to be acceptable - certainly in the headlamps, and expect it to evaporate with use. May be a different story with an indicator though as they'll never get hot enough to shift anything. Do you use a pressure washer to clean the vehicle? - as this, if used too close can allow water into the seals.

I don't think these will have LEDs in - it's only the lens that gives the LED 'effect' and should take an HY21W bulb.

If you pop your VIN up I can double check.

I can live with the moisture in the indicator, just dont want the whole lamp to short out. Read that someone had to pay EUR 450 for a replacement.. So if I somehow can dry it out and maybe seal it good with clear silicone or something similar. But need to disasembly than and maybe this is hard.

I have used presure wash, so maybe this is the problem. Will be more careful when I clean it next time.

Hi Artois - so you do in fact have the later updated unit and these are LEDs as you mentioned. So no replacement LEDs and basically the module is one unit that has to be replaced and they are about 4,592 Swedish Krona each or 444 Euros.
