Diesel Particulate Additive levels too low

Hi all, I've had a warning come up on my stereo about my dpf additive being too low. Is it just a case of refilling the fluid or will it need to be done at a garage. I'm on a tight budget as I need to replace a front suspension arm aswell.

Don't ignore it for too long or you may end up with other problems concerning the pump. The correct type of additive needs to be used and secondly it will need the additive ECU counter resetting with a professional diagnostic tool like Diagbox.

You may want to ring the dealer up and get a quote for topping up the additive fluid - it may be less than you think and will potentially save issues.

If I top up the additive myself will the garage reset it or they get funny ?

It really depends on the garage. Some wont want to get involved with doing half the job & others will gladly take your money.

They should do. They'll probably just charge you 'diagnostics' time. I've often gone in to get specific things done - remove my DRL bulbs for me (bumper off) or fit only (suspension struts) or to get a specific option activated / deactivated if you don't have your own diagnostic tool. But it really depends on the garage as Wheeler mentioned.

Yes, what is your RP number? its shown on the tyre pressure sticker.
It will most likely be Eolys Powerflex but the car could have been built long before it was registered.

Can only seem to find pat fluid in a white bottle with a green label when I type in eolys Powerflex

I find it amazing that PSA currently used 4 different types of additive but euro car parts sell a 1 kind does it all PAT fluid.
Its up to you, i woldnt take the chance. It will appear to work ok & any problems wont likely show up till a bit down the line.

I've seen some superflex on ebay but it's taking the chance of it being genuine
