Hi All
just bought a DS5 1.6 semiautomatic for my wife. We drove around 10 miles since buying. She cam back from the shops and parked her up. When i tried to drive her around 1 hour later I was unable to move her. I started the car as normal and pressed the break and put the car into auto, when i pressed the accelerator the car refused to moved, it was like all the brakes were stuck on - I tried this again in manual but the same problem - it will move in Neutral - any ideas
thanks

These piloted manual boxes can be fraught with issues - my advice would be if you have just bought it from a garage to take it back - as soon as possible. These can be costly to fix, but need proper diagnostic tests to first ascertain the issues and this will cost as not all generic code readers can read manufacturer specific codes.
Repair bills can also be costly, so if you have just bought it from a garage you should be covered - hand it back and get them to sort it in the first instance and keep records of everything.
If it was a private sale, there's not a lot you can do - short of getting Citroen to diagnose if for you ad ultimately it will be cheaper than taking it to multiple garages who may have little or no experience with these systems.

I’d still take it back if I were you. I’d there is an intermittent issue then it’s just going to get worse.

Hi Andy, I understand what Marc is saying about taking it back, however, trying to get them to accept an intermittant fault is going to be difficult.
I had a Similar issue with my C4 eHdi, I put it down to being just a little bit too quick, Unlock, Start, Select Drive, Touch the throttle, nothing, I think the gear indicator didn't change either, it was as if the computers did not fully boot up quick enough, I found that if I lock the car, (you can sit insde it if you like but don't move as the alarm will go off!), then let the car go fully to sleep, this takes a few minutes, you will know as all the dash lights go off (If I remember the mileometer is the last to go), the turn it on a start again, if its the same problem it will be fine and very hard to replicate infront of a mechanic, I did try.

Sorry if all this sounds a bit wishy washy, but we've seen so many issues with these systems here on multiple vehicles, that you could be going round in circles and my concern at this point is that if you have bought it from a dealer to let them 'deal' with it, or it's going to cost you in diagnostic time alone.
Personally I'd stick to manual or a fully automatic for a relatively hassle free experience.
