Engine trouble

Post by ethansibley »

I have a 2007 clio 1.2 16v turbo and have an issue where when I connect these to hoses together when the engine isn't running the engine loses all revs and dies and if I connect them when it is running after driving for a minute it just blows apart again. It's causing my engine to idle at about 1.5k rpm but if I connect them it goes back to normal. Any help appreciated.

Hi and welcome to FCF. It looks like the sleeve has broken off the housing. Look up inside the pipe and you should see the remnants. It probably won't repair so I would suggest replacement.

If a temporary fix is what you need, try wiring the two halves together.

I am struggling to find the correct picture for your Flame Trap but it looks not unlike this steel one but the spigots have ridges on them to help grip the plastic pipe. One spigot has sheared off on yours.
