C8 2.0HDi smoke and power

Post by jscadden »

Had all my filters and oil change week before last but now finding engine is lacking power. Can still get to the speeds on motorway but drops off on slope.

Maximum revs of 2000 when pulling away and smoking as well. Engine management light has come on but that comes and goes occasionally.

I was thinking of putting some cleaner through but thought I might as well check first.

Thanks!
John

Blocked air intake/filter?

Have you read the codes?
I have various repair handbooks and wiring diagrams for C5 mk1, Xantia, XM, Berlingo and C3 mk1.
I have Lexia/Diagbox (Sweden) and Servicebox/sedre

The air intake filter was replaced along with the fuel and oil filters. I haven't bothered with the codes as I'm not confident that my code reader is accurate.

I need to know the likely causes to ascertain which direction to go in.

Have you checked the condition of the new air filter and the oil level after 20 mins stopped? Worth a check maybe.
