Servicing Citroen Dispatch 2.0 hdi diesel

Post by scaryjon »

Hi, I am new to french cars and so is the case to this forum. I own a citroen dispatch 2012 its a 2l hdi diesel. I have done a fair bit of reading and I want to change the oil, fuel and oil filters along with air filters. It will cost a lot less than going to a shop. I need help with changing the oil and fuel filters. Can someone share some instructions for these procedures? thaank you :?

Probably a good idea to invest in a Haynes repair manual for the Dispatch (aka Jumpy), which will cover all those operations, and lots more. Just google Haynes manuals, and select your vehicle.

i have looked on the haynes manual and it doesn't give clear indications for replacing the oil filter on 2l diesel engines. Pictures and manual is for 2l petrol and 1.6 engines. It involves steps not described on the manual. :?

Looking at used engines on ebay it appears to be a paper cartridge type rather than a spin on, located on the front left (as you look at it) of the engine. Widely used on other PSA engines now. Just drain the oil, then unscrew the lid (27mm) and it will pull the filter out. Remove the filter from the lid (takes a good bit of wiggling - wear gloves!!), clean the lid and the filter housing, and replace the seal on the lid. Insert the new filter into the housing (make sure the lug on the bottom engages with the hole in the housing) then screw the lid back on - it can be tricky to get the the thread to start as you need to push down against the top of the filter to get it to engage with the threads.

Be careful with the 27mm plastic 'nut' on the filter top, I read on here someone used an oil filter wrench on the plastic housing to assist. When I did mine I thought I'd break it.
