Engine Oil Choice
A question (or two) for those in the know; I'm looking to do a full service on the 2.0 Peugeot Expert Tepee I recently purchased. For all filters I'm going with MANN products as I've used them for years and trust the brand but the engine oil is the one in question. I see some recommending TOTAL QUARTZ and I've found 5ltrs of TOTAL QUARTZ INEO ECS 5W-30 for £33 delivered which seems reasonable, however, I've got a surplus of Castrol MAGNATEC STOP-START 5W-30 C2 from my other vehicle and this comes up as compatible on Castrols website, the question is whether the Total is worth the extra over the Castrol product I already have? Also, if I went with Castrol would there be a wear concern on engine components from using a different brand of oil (presuming Total oils have been used throughout the cars service history).

Re: Engine Oil Choice
If the spec of the Castrol oil meets that required by the car (see Owner's Handbook), then it will be fine.
Sticking with the major brands (Castrol, Total . . . ) is sensible.
It will also be safe to mix identical spec oils, if you are trying to use up stock.
