Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Ok I have some sort of success gone back to see what i had done in the various previous attempts and decided i messed up as usual
Sometimes i got checking data on media( Media corrupt ) others just logo and blank screen as if it was rebooting and then the above Wait screen.
So went for a higher firmware 2.37 download and the Wait screen was from that attempt. Decided to check USB and had the main folder containing the files on it so moved all files out formatted USB and put just the files and not the folder on it.
So tried again but only just to see
Assuming this update goes well does anyone have any later versions previous to 2.86 that i could update via USB would like to get close to 2.80 before i do the major 2.86 update
Will do the actual update tomorrow too late today have things to do

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Personally I wouldn't do all those increments as it's just more write and erase cycles on the internal MicroSD card and that's additional wear and tear to what I suspect is the original card....
Just take a fresh Mirascripts backup, and dive in to 2.86 Colin. However if you want 2.80 I have that and will PM you the link.

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Thanks Marc
Yes makes sense as yes i think it is the original SD card as maps and firmware are both 2010 versions.

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Ok so Updated to version 2.80 now it keeps coming up with checking in progress then rebooting even with no USB inserted.
New SD card or try version 2.86 ?
Or did i remove the USB to early, the system rebooted radio came back on so removed the USB ?

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Try leaving the 2.80 USB stick in and see if it will complete the process first.

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Well the unit will not stay on long enough to check the data on the USB for version 2.86, it starts to check then goes into the checking in progress bit and rebooting
However i can confirm that the software version is 2.80 radio works and parking sensors just will not stay on
Lesson learnt follow the instructions to the letter
May have to go down the route of a new SD card and maybe bite the bullet and get a CD from Citroen unless anyone has some bright ideas that can get me out this mess i have put myself in all by myself

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Only thing i have not tried yet is a BSI reset. My thinking is maybe that the software version is showing as being 2.80 then maybe this may work will try that tomorrow morning

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
BSI reset didn't work so going down the route of replacing the SD card.
Any particular brand or just a standard class 10 8gb or 16gb one?

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Don't get anything too fancy or too fast, as it has to be compatible with the unit. 16 Gb is what you should be replacing it with as the latest maps are very large. Look at the specifications and class of the existing MicroSD card to find a replacement, but just get a 16 Gb one.
There's nothing hard to remove the Head Unit, you'll need appropriate removal keys like these:
A word of advice, make sure you follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure before unplugging the head unit connections.
When partially slid out, always unclip and disconnect the large Quadlock connector first as this contains the power. Then remove the other connections and on refitting, reconnect the Quadlock last.
