It has been a long time since we posted...... still have 4 Peugeots though sadly no Citroens
We have an issue with our 205 1,7d and our daughter's 205 has exactly the same problem.
When we are at the pumps putting in diesel (even only 10 litres), you can hear the tank gurgling, and then watch out, because it is going to chuck about half a litre back at you.
We realize that it is an air issue, so we investigated.
When you take off the wheel at the tank filler side, you see the main filler pipe, another pipe moulded onto it which goes down to the tank, which is presumably the breather. Neither pipes are blocked. The smaller pipe has a junction about 2/3 way down. We opened this and were able to pass a pipe down to the diesel and back up to the filler neck.
There is also a tiny overflow pipe up near the filler which drains down to a chassis leg !!!!!!! . This is also not blocked.
We are about the drain the diesel and remove the tank to investigate further, but maybe someone here has an easier fix???
Thank you in advance.
