xantia suspension (M Reg) 1.9TD

Can anyone help?
i recently hit a speed bump in my xantia and now the rear suspension
is really stiff causing me real problems with the wife because of the
rigid ride (no pun intended).
does anyone out there know how to fix this?

You could have ruptured a sphere, causing a very hard ride. Is it an LX, SX or VSX?

Is it higher than it used to be at the back, if so its probably the plastic ball link come off or broken, the clamp ring on the roll bar can have its ball broken off, ouch.
Or indeed a burst sphere, try pushing the rear down at the corners, if one corner is solid, then as suggested its most likely a sphere.

Assuming you we were driving at a legal speed, send the bill to the local council. They've no right to build speed bumps that cause damage to vehicles travelling at legal speeds (even if they stick warning signs out!)
