tailgate lock not working , 07 c4 picasso

Post by VINCENTFISHING »

Have trawled the web/forums for info with no joy,
boot not opening((only via screwdrivwer from within)
will also open via diagbox actuator test(so lock and mechanism ok ?)
presume actuator test actuates a relay to power boot unlock(so relay ok?)
have taken boot release switch off and tested for continuity across 2 male terminals and switch ok when red button pressed and released giving open circuit then closed.
have checked all wires passing fom boot frame into car ,all in good order,
have checked 2 female terminals on swith connecter on 20v dc , showing no voltage,
wondering if this is a microvoltage to can and should test on lot lower setting ???
any further testing between swith connector and elswhere??????
any advice appreciated

The electronic boot opening control inside the rubberised housing can fail. It's usually the microswitch inside that you press on to open it.

There are 2 versions one a sealed and one unsealed - each about £45. So I'd just call into your Citroen dealer and they'll check which you need and order one up.

It's the reason why the actuator tests work and the manual opening with the screwdriver, but not when pressing the microswitch, as the internal wiring and the lock obviously work, but the outside control (microswitch) has failed so won't unlock when pressed.

already tested that as listed in first post and it was good.

Have just finished taking boot liner off to test wiring,
1st connector from boot switch(blue wire andgreen/yellow wire)clipped behind metal spar and showing signs that it had been off previously was not connected properly, pushed it and hot glued it in just in case, all now working...
